Chinese Herbal Medicine
Herbal therapy is often used in addition to acupuncture. Incorporating Chinese herbal medicine into the TCVM (Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine) treatment plan can be more effective than using acupuncture alone. Chinese herbs also offer another treatment option when pets are unable to take Western medications or when there is an inadequate response to these medications. The plant itself is the bioactive ingredient and parts of the plant or the whole plant is utilized. Different herbs are often combined into balanced formulations, and work synergistically to heal and nourish in a gentle manner. Herbals can be safely used for relatively long periods of time, have a long shelf life, and come in a variety of different forms for easy dosing and administration to your pet.
